Ferris State Women's Tennis Drops Neutral Site Match To Indiana (Pa.)

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's tennis squad closed out its weekend of action with a hard-fought 4-0 setback to Indiana (Pa.) on Saturday (Feb. 10) in Sandusky, Ohio.

The Bulldogs fell to IUP, which reached the NCAA Division II Sweet Sixteen last year, in the neutral site contest that was stopped once the match was clinched.

IUP won the doubles point although FSU's Morgan Waller and Ana Sofia Hernandez Ferrer were 7-5 winners at the top doubles flight.

"We played clinch, which is tough because we were doing really well on the other three matches that wwere not completed," said FSU head coach Mark Doren. "We played them tough, but just couldn't get over the hump.

"One of the positivies from the match is that our number one doubles team beat their top doubles team, which is currently ranked #8 in the country," he added.

The Bulldogs will continue regional action back at home on Sunday, Feb. 18, hosting Northwood in a 10 a.m. (ET) tilt at the FSU Racquet and Fitness Center.
