Football
Ferris State climbed to #1 in this week's D2Football National Rankings following a 55-9 league road win at Northern Michigan this past Saturday in Marquette. The Bulldogs are now 8-1 overall and sit on top of the GLIAC standings with a 5-0 league mark. FSU is also tabbed first in the NCAA D2 Super Region Three Rankings this week. Ferris State will host Saginaw Valley State in a GLIAC First-Place Showdown this Saturday afternoon at Top Taggart Field starting at 1 pm. Junior kicker Mitch Middleton was chosen as the GLIAC's Special Teams Player of the Week for the second time this campaign following the road win at NMU.
 
Volleyball
Ferris State jumped to #1 in the nation this week for only the second time in school history in the American Volleyball Coaches Association D2 National Rankings. The Bulldogs, who are now a nation-best 24-0 overall, own a first-place 13-0 mark in GLIAC play. Ferris State captured a pair of impressive home wins last weekend, beating Wayne State 3-1 on Friday before topping 12th-ranked rival Grand Valley State in a 3-0 sweep before a capacity crowd on Saturday. This week, FSU hosts Northern Michigan on Friday night at 5 pm before taking on Michigan Tech on Saturday at the same time. Saturday's match will represent Senior Day with FSU slated to honor a stellar class of eight seniors.
 
Hockey
Ferris State returns home to host the Michigan Tech Huskies in CCHA play this weekend at the Ewigleben Ice Arena. Both games are now scheduled for 7:07 pm starts due to the numerous home events taking place on campus. The Bulldogs fell to rival Bowling Green in a pair of tightly-contested road games last weekend, dropping a 2-0 decision in Friday's opener before falling 5-4 in the Saturday finale in Ohio.
 
Soccer
Ferris State notched an impressive 7-0 home win over Roosevelt this past Sunday in league action and currently sits fourth overall in the GLIAC standings entering the final week of regular-season. FSU is one point out of third place and only one point ahead of the fifth-place team with the top four earning a first-round GLIAC Quarterfinal game next Tuesday. The Bulldogs fell to Saginaw Valley State 4-1 on Friday before rebounding with the decisive win. FSU hosts Parkside on Thursday at 1 pm and then squares off against Purdue Northwest on Saturday at 11 am in the final game of the regular-season.
 
Men's & Women's Basketball
The FSU men's basketball squad hosts the GLIAC-GMAC Crossover on Friday and Saturday at Wink Arena. The Bulldogs, who are 25th in the nation, take on Northwood on Friday and Lake Erie on Saturday with both games slated for 7 pm starts. FSU fell to third-ranked West Texas A&M in the season opener at the D2CCA Tipoff Classic in Texas last weekend, but rebounded to beat North Carolina-Pembroke 81-59 in the finale with Ethan Erickson earning all-tournament team honors ... The #15 Bulldog women also went 1-1 at the D2CCA Tipoff Classic in St. Joseph (Mo.) over the weekend with a win over #13 Pittsburg State 74-64 in the opener before falling to Central Missouri in the finale. FSU heads back to Missouri this week to face Southwest Baptist (Mo.) and Drury (Mo.) in regional action in Springfield.
 
Cross Country
After a bye week, the Bulldogs will take part in the NCAA D2 Midwest Regional on Saturday in Romeoville, Ill.
