Big Rapids, Mich. - Ferris State University has announced the addition of Elly Trefry as the program's first assistant cheer coach for the Bulldogs' brand-new STUNT program. The announcement was made by first-year Bulldog head coach Perrmella Harris.

Trefry brings a championship mindset to FSU, having competed at Davenport University where she helped lead the team to two STUNT conference championships, two NCA National Championships and a Division II STUNT national title.

"Elly's time at Davenport not only shaped her as a student-athletes, but also fueled her passion for coaching," said Harris. "She has guided countless athletes to success through clinics, competitions and leadership on and off the mat."

Over the past three years, Trefry has served on staff at Champion Cheerleading camp and for the last four years has also been a respected Michigan High School Athletic Association (MHSAA) and 517 competitive cheer official.
