Football
The nation's top-ranked Bulldogs return to the gridiron this Saturday as FSU opens GLIAC play on the road at Roosevelt in Arlington Heights, Illinois. It will mark FSU's first-ever visit to Roosevelt, which is midst its second year as a conference member. The Bulldogs own a 4-0 mark to date and lead the nation in scoring at 53.5 points per game. Ferris State will be seeking its 19th consecutive win dating back to last year. FSU returns home next week to host Wayne State on Oct. 11 at Top Taggart Field in afternoon action.
 
Hockey
The Bulldogs open the 2025-26 season and the beginning of a new era under first-year head coach Brett Riley with a non-league road series this week at Miami (Ohio). Friday's season opener is slated for a 7:05 p.m. start with Saturday's finale at 6:05 p.m. Senior Gavin Best has been tabbed as the team's captain this year. After this week's action, the Bulldogs will play a home-and-home series with nationally top-ranked and defending national champion Western Michigan next week with the first game in Kalamazoo on Thursday (Oct. 9) evening and the finale in Big Rapids for the home opener on Friday (Oct. 10) night.
 
Volleyball
The Bulldog women's volleyball team earned a home split last week in league action as FSU bounced back to beat Wayne State 3-1 on Saturday after suffering a close 3-2 setback to rival Grand Valley State on Friday night. The Bulldogs are currently 8-4 overall this year and off to a 3-1 start in conference action. FSU hits the road this week, starting off a eight-match road stretch. Ferris State will visit Parkside on Friday night before taking on Roosevelt on Saturday in downtown Chicago.
 
Women's Soccer
The Ferris State women's soccer team battled to a 1-1 deadlock in its lone action last week on the road Sunday at Roosevelt in conference play. This week, Ferris State travels to Michigan's Upper Peninsula with road tilts on Friday at Northern Michigan and on Sunday at Michigan Tech. FSU is currently 2-1-4 overall this year and 2-0-1 in conference action.
 
Men's & Women's Tennis
The Ferris State University men's tennis squad competed in the ITA Regionals last weekend in Allendale with standout Kevin Kovacs reaching the semifinals in the top flight of singles play. This week, the women's team will compete at the ITA Midwest Regional Championships hosted by Davenport in the Grand Rapids area starting on Saturday.
 
Cross Country
The Ferris State  men's and women's cross country teams were off this past week, but will return to competition on Friday at the Joe Piane Invite in South Bend, Ind.
 
Men's & Women's Golf
The Bulldog men's golf team tied for fourth overall last week (Sept. 22-23) at the University of Indianapolis Fall Invite ... Meanwhile, the women's golf team took second place at both its own Bulldog Fall Classic last weekend and the Gilda's Club Laker Invite on Monday in Allendale. The women's team competes at the Beall Fall Classic hosted by Findlay in Ohio this coming Monday and Tuesday.
