Football
Nationally top-ranked Ferris State rolled to a 66-0 road win over Roosevelt in its GLIAC opener last Saturday in FSU's first-ever trip to Arlington Heights, Ill. The Bulldogs posted a new school record with 788 yards of total offense and matched the school record with their 19th victory in a row dating back to last year. Quarterback Wyatt Bower claimed GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week honors while kicker Eddie Jewett was the GLIAC Special Teams Player of the Week. The Bulldogs, now 5-0 overall, will host Wayne State this Saturday at Top Taggart Field starting at 1 p.m. (ET).
Hockey
The Bulldogs opened the 2025-26 season with a pair of close road setbacks at Miami (Ohio) last weekend, falling 6-4 in the opener and 3-1 in the finale. Ferris State will square off against defending national champion and top-ranked Western Michigan this week in a home-and-home series starting with the opener on Thursday night at Lawson Ice Arena in Kalamazoo. The Bulldogs then host the Broncos in their home opener on Friday night beginning at 7:07 p.m., which is presented by Hungry Howie's. The game is free to all students and fans are encouraged to wear white for the "White Out" game. In addition, free thundersticks will be given to the first 500 fans and free rally towels will be distributed to the first 150 students courtesy of Campus Communities.
Volleyball
The Bulldog women's volleyball team won three-straight road matches, sweeping Parkside and Roosevelt over the weekend before topping Davenport by a 3-1 score on Tuesday night. The Bulldogs now own a 11-4 overall record this year and will play two more road matches this weekend. FSU first visits Saginaw Valley State on Friday night before venturing to Lake Superior State on Saturday.
Women's Soccer
The Ferris State women's soccer team earned a league road split in Michigan's Upper Peninsula this past week, falling to Northern Michigan by a 2-1 score on Friday before bouncing back to beat Michigan Tech by a 2-1 result on Sunday. FSU is now 3-1-1 in conference play. The Bulldogs will host rival Grand Valley State on Friday for a 1 p.m. (ET) league match in Big Rapids and then head to Davenport on Sunday afternoon.
Men's & Women's Golf
The Ferris State University women's golf team took fifth place overall at the Beall Fall Classic hosted by Findlay early this week in Ohio. Senior Kamryn Shannon earned individual medalist honors after winning a playoff and also was tabbed as the GLIAC Player of the Week. The men's team will head to Findlay as well early next week for the annual Doc Spragg Fall Invite on Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 13-14.
Cross Country / Tennis
The Ferris State men's and women's cross country teams took on some of the nation's top competition at the Joe Piane Notre Dame Invite in South Bend last Friday with the women finishing 17th and the men 21st overall. FSU heads to two meets this week, including the Lewis Conference Crossover and the Muskegon Jayhawk Invite .... The women's tennis team competed at the ITA Regional Championships hosted by Davenport over the weekend and had two individuals reach day two competition and the round of 16 in singles play.
Men's & Women's Golf
The Bulldog men's golf team tied for fourth overall last week (Sept. 22-23) at the University of Indianapolis Fall Invite ... Meanwhile, the women's golf team took second place at both its own Bulldog Fall Classic last weekend and the Gilda's Club Laker Invite on Monday in Allendale. The women's team competes at the Beall Fall Classic hosted by Findlay in Ohio this coming Monday and Tuesday.
