Nearly 40 Ferris State Student-Athletes To Receive Degrees During Spring Graduation Ceremonies This Weekend
Big Rapids, Mich. - A total of 39 current and former Ferris
State University student-athletes are expected to officially
receive degrees as part of the 2014 spring commencement ceremonies
to be held this weekend (May 9-10) at FSU's Jim Wink Arena.
All 39 student-athletes will receive degrees as spring or summer
graduates at FSU. Approximately 1,850 students are eligible to
graduate at commencement ceremonies for the Spring 2014 term. Of
that group, approximately 1,500 students are expected to
participate in five different Big Rapids campus
ceremonies.
Commencement ceremonies begin on Friday, May 9. The ceremony for
the College of Health Professions begins at 3:30 p.m. inside Wink
Arena of the Ewigleben Sports Complex. At 7 p.m., ceremonies for
the Doctorate in Community College Leadership and the College of
Arts and Sciences and the College of Pharmacy will be hosted.
Commencement exercises resume on Saturday, May 10. Beginning at 9
a.m. is a ceremony for the College of Engineering Technology. At
12:30 p.m., will be a ceremony for the College of Business.
Finally, on the Big Rapids campus, the 4 p.m. ceremony takes place
featuring the Michigan College of Optometry and the College of
Education and Human Services.
The list of 39 student-athletes includes 10 from the Bulldog
football program along with seven in men's cross country/track and
five in men's ice hockey. The women's soccer program will be
represented with four graduates while women's cross country/track
has three and softball, volleyball, women's basketball and women's
tennis each have two. Finally, a single graduate from men's
basketball and men's tennis will receive degrees during the spring
graduation ceremonies.
