#6 Ferris State Earns Big League Road Win Over Roosevelt In Chicago

Big Rapids, Mich. - The nationally sixth-ranked Ferris State University men's basketball squad erupted for 62 points in the opening half and cruised to a decisive 95-72 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) road win over league newcomer Roosevelt University on Saturday (Dec. 7) in Chicago.

Ferris State built a 62-33 halftime edge and came away with the win to improve to 10-1 overall and 2-0 in the GLIAC.

Junior guard Tyler Hamilton paced the Bulldogs with 17 points overall while senior Reece Hazelton totaled 16 points. FSU also got 14 points from junior center Nathan Claerbaut along with 13 points each by senior guard Ethan Erickson and senior Kenny Turner.

The Bulldogs shot 53.4% from the floor and sank 11-of-26 (42.3%) three's while making 22-of-26 (84.6%) free throws.

Defensively, the Bulldogs held the Lakers to only 37.8% shooting as Roosevelt finished five-of-21 (23.8%) from long range. RU did make 11-of-14 (78.6%) free throws.

The Bulldogs were led on the glass by Claerbaut, who had eight rebounds.

FSU is off until Dec. 19 when the Bulldogs visit Cedarville for a 6 p.m. (ET) regional road matchup in Ohio. The Bulldogs then host Lambton (Ontario) on Dec. 21 in Big Rapids beginning at 3 p.m. (ET).
