
Ferris State Basketball Squads Head To Upper Peninsula For Pivotal League Weekend Action
Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's and women's basketball squads will head to Michigan's Upper Peninsula this week for a pair of pivotal Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) doubleheaders.
Both Ferris State squads will first take on Michigan Tech on Thursday (Feb. 13) evening in Houghton with the women's game set for a 5:30 p.m. (ET) tipoff and the men's contest slated to follow at approximately 7:30 p.m. (ET).
Then, on Saturday (Feb. 15), the two teams will tangle with the Northern Michigan Wildcats in afternoon action starting at 1 p.m. (ET) for the women and 3 p.m. (ET) for the men.
There will be no local radio coverage for Thursday's games at MTU, but Saturday's games will be available on Sunny 97.3 FM and the Bulldog Sports Network online at FerrisStateBulldogs.com.
Bulldog fans can listen to the MTU broadcast of Thursday's doubleheader or both doubleheaders will also be available via video stream on a pay-per-view basis by FloSports. All applicable coverage links will be available on the respective team schedule pages at FerrisStateBulldogs.com.
The Bulldog men, who are ranked 20th nationally and hold a 20-5 overall record, enter the week a game behind Michigan Tech and Lake Superior State in the league standings. Both LSSU and MTU are 11-3 in GLIAC play with FSU and NMU tied at 10-4 overall. All four teams square off against each other in conference play this weekend.
On the women's end, Ferris State is currently tied with NMU for second place in the GLIAC at 10-4 behind Grand Valley State, which holds a 14-0 mark. MTU is also contending to move up in the league standings heading into the final six games of the regular season as the Huskies are midst a three-way tie for sixth place at 6-8 in conference action.
Following this week's trip to the Upper Peninsula, both teams will play their final two home doubleheaders of the year next week, hosting Purdue Northwest on Feb. 20 and Parkside on Feb. 22 for Senior Day at Jim Wink Arena.
