Ferris State To Formally Introduce New Hockey Head Coach Brett Riley At Monday Press Conference

Big Rapids, Mich. - Ferris State University will hold a press conference to introduce new men's ice hockey head coach Brett Riley on Monday (March 31) starting at 11 a.m. (ET) inside the Ewigleben Sports Complex.

Riley was officially named the program's sixth head coach in the 50-year history of Bulldog Hockey and will meet the media at the event, which will take place inside the Gold Room overlooking the Center for Athletics Performance.

The press conference is open to the media and the general public and will also be streamed on the Bulldogs' official YouTube page @FerrisAthletics. It will include comments from FSU Athletics Director Steve Brockelbank along with Riley. Media members in attendance will also have an opportunity for one-on-one interviews with Riley following the press conference.

Riley, who has served as the head coach at NCAA Division I Long Island University since 2020, follows legendary head coach Bob Daniels, who retired this year following 33 season at the Bulldog helm.

A third-generation hockey coach with a proven track record of leadership and passion for developing young talent, Riley led Long Island to the Sharks' winningest season in program history this past campaign, finishing the 2024-25 season with a 20-12-2 overall record while compiling the nation's best home mark with a 14-1 record at the Norewell Health Ice Center. He was named the NCAA Independent Hockey Coach of the Year.
