Bio

Dave Cencer begins his 19th season as a member of the Ferris State coaching staff in 2024-2025, specifically overseeing the program’s goaltenders, power play and strength and conditioning. 

As goalie coach, Cencer has developed three All-Americans during his tenure. He has incorporated cutting-edge technology, including velocity-based training and heart-rate training, into the Bulldogs’ strength and conditioning program. He holds a master's degree in exercise science along with certifications from the NSCA (Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist) and USA Weightlifting. Cencer also served six years on the Michigan Advisory Board of the NSCA and has been a presenter for the NSCA at both state and national conferences.

In addition to his experience at Ferris State, Cencer coached the 2009-2010 season with the Stanley Cup champion Chicago Blackhawks organization.

Cencer, and his wife, Anna, along with their family reside in Cadillac. He earned a bachelor's degree from Franciscan University.
