Bulldog Men's Tennis Opens GLIAC/GLVC Crossover With Big Regional Win

Big Rapids, Mich. - The nationally 20th-ranked Ferris State University men's tennis squad opened up action in the 2017 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC)/Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Crossover with a 6-3 triumph over Southern Indiana on Friday (March 17) in Plainfield, Ill.

The Screaming Eagles took a 2-1 lead following the doubles round, but the Bulldogs rallied to take the top five singles flights in bouncing back for the triumph.

With the win, Ferris State improved to 7-2 overall this season and snapped a two-match losing streak with both losses coming against top 20 nationally-ranked sqauds.

Both Vasil Surduk and Nur Adim Ramdani Iswan were double winners for the Bulldogs as they paired up for an 8-4 win at second doubles and both also claimed singles wins at the second and fourth flights, respectively.

Ferris State continues action in the GLIAC/GLVC Crossover on Saturday (March 18) by facing Rockhurst (Mo.) in a 2:30 p.m. (ET) tilt. FSU then wraps up the inaugural event on Sunday (March 19) against Lewis (Ill.).
