Bulldog Men's Tennis Opens Fall In Strong Fashion Against Regional Foes

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's tennis team started the fall season strong on Sunday (Sept. 8) as the Bulldogs competed in Midland against regional foes Northwood and Tiffin.

Ferris State took part in eight singles matches and four doubles contests against both NU and TU, winning 20-of-24 matches overall with a total of six new teams players picking up both singles and doubles wins.

The Bulldogs finished with a 9-3 mark against Northwood and went 11-1 versus Tiffin on the day.

"I was so impressed with how everybody stepped up in their first outing of the year," said FSU head coach Mark Doren. "What stood out the most was the depth of our new team, winning all of the #7 and #8 singles matches along with both #4 doubles contests."

The Bulldogs are next slated to take part in the Davenport Invitational on Sept. 20. FSU will then compete in the ITA Regional Championships set for Sept. 28-30.
