Ferris State Opens Spring Trip With Setback At #21 Florida Southern

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's tennis squad opened its annual spring break trip to the Sunshine State with a 4-1 non-league setback on Monday (March 10) afternoon against Florida Southern in Lakeland, Fla.

Host FSC, which is ranked 21st nationally, topped the 41st-ranked Bulldogs in the match at the Wynee Warden Tennis Center, capturing the doubles point and three of the four completed singles contests for the clinch.

The Moccasins improved to 6-4 overall this year with the triumph while FSU dropped to 4-4 on the year.

In doubles play, Florida Southern earned wins at the first and third flights in the lineup while the FSU tandem of Kacper Pasielak and Alessandro Santangelo held a 4-3 lead at two doubles when the point was secured and the match was stopped.

In singles play, FSU got a 6-4, 6-2 victory from Adrian Catahan at the sixth spot in the lineup. However, Florida Southern came away with wins at the one, three and four spots. Both the second and fifth flights went unfinished.

The Bulldogs will be back on the court Tuesday (March 11) against Dallas Baptist in men's action at the United States Tennis Association (USTA) National Campus beginning at 12 p.m. (ET).
