
Ferris State Tennis Teams Sweep Michigan Tech In Upper Peninsula
Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's and women's tennis teams both posted big Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) road wins over the Michigan Tech Huskies on Friday (April 4) in Houghton.
The Bulldog women earned a 5-2 win over the Huskies and the men secured a 6-1 triumph in the league doubleheader played in the Upper Peninsula.
In the women's contest, Ferris State took the doubles point with wins at the second and third flights in the lineup.
The FSU women then also claimed four of the six singles spots for the victory. Ana Sofia Hernandez Ferrer, Yara Madi and Kennedy Dumas swept the top three positions in the lineup in straight-sets and Katherine Earnest was also a decided winner at six singles in the victory.
The Bulldog men swept the doubles round and took five of the six singles contests in the convincing win.
In singles play, the Bulldogs got wins from Kevin Kovacs, Alessandro Santangelo, Erik Kovacs and Felipe Iser at the top four spots in the lineup. Meanwhile, Adrian Catahan was a winner at six singles.
The Bulldogs will next visit Purdue Northwest on Friday, April 11. The women's contest will start at 10 a.m. (ET) with the men's contest scheduled for a 2 p.m. (ET) start.
