Bio
Danielle Kenton begins her eighth season at Ferris State as the program's assistant coach in 2024-25 and helped FSU reach it’s best season since 2016 last spring.
While at Ferris Danielle has coached two GLIAC Freshman of year(s), Jadyn Joseph (2023) and Alexis Kozlowski (2024) along with 29 All-GLIAC players, two NFCA All-Region players, 2024 National Freshman of year finalist Alexis Kozlowski, 90 GLIAC Academic Award Recipients, 68 NFCA Scholar Athletes in additino to two CoSIDA Academic All-Americans, Paige Kortz (2021/2022), and Alexis Kozlowski (2024). In 2022, Ferris State finished tied for nation’s eight-best overall team GPA.
Kenton spent the 2016-17 season serving as an assistant coach under former FSU head coach Kristin Janes at Fort Scott Community College where she assisted managing catchers, hitting and the infield. She also was instrumental in running strength and conditioning workouts while assisting with various duties such as field maintenance, gameday preparation, fundraising and community service initiatives.
Before joining the Fort Scott staff, Kenton played collegiately as a catcher at Dodge City Community College in Kansas from 2011-13. She later played club softball at Kansas State University and served as the head coach of KSU's National Club Softball Association squad in 2015-16. During her stint as head coach, she organized and ran all team practices and facilitated game strategy and instruction.
Kenton, who holds an associate's degree from Dodge City along with a bachelor of science degree in Kinesiology from Kansas State, has also served as a plate and field umpire for the American Softball Association.
