Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's soccer team used four unanswered goals to pave the way to a 4-1 non-conference victory over the Northwood Timberwolves on Monday (Oct. 3) at the Bulldog Soccer Field.

Ferris State got multi-point games from seniors Payton Price (two goals) and Isabella Zamborini (one goal, two assists) to boost them over the Timberwolves.

Northwood opened the scoring at 4:30 when Brooke Honeycutt got in and connected for her seventh goal of the year, giving NU a 1-0 lead.

The Bulldogs though, went on a quick run to jump in front. Ferris State evened the scoring at 25:17 when junior Brinley Bell netted her first goal as a Bulldog, finishing off a tic-tac-toe play at the left side of the cage. Senior Katie Nestico (1) and Zamborini (4) picked up the helpers on the play, tying the game at 1-1.

The tie lasted only 61 seconds as Zamborini crossed a shot inside the left goal post, finishing off a run set up by senior Jessie Bandyk for Zamborini's team-leading sixth goal of the year. Bandyk earned her first assist of the year on the play for a 2-1 Bulldog lead.

To close out the half, senior Payton Price headed in a lob shot that crossed to the right goal post and bounced over the line for her second goal of the year at 43:34. Sophomore Lindsay Cole (3) and freshman Grace Pratt (1) were credited with the assists on the goal, giving the Bulldogs a 3-1 advantage at the break.

Early in the second half, Ferris State added an insurance marker at 60:13 when Price volleyed in her second goal of the contest and third of the year. Sophomore Annie Hartley (1) and Zamborini (5) combined on a nifty passing play to set up Price's goal for the 4-1 Bulldog final.

After the opening 20 minutes, Ferris State had the run of play, and outshot Northwood 24-3 on the day with a 9-2 advantage in shots on goal. Ferris State attempted nine corner kicks to Northwood's one.

In goal, Ferris State sophomore Lauren Kubacki remained unbeaten and untied, moving to 3-0-0, making one save in the effort. Andrea Everett took the loss for Northwood, making five stops and allowing all four Bulldog goals on the day.

Ferris State hits the road to open a four-game road swing, starting at Purdue Northwest on Friday (Oct. 7) at 4 p.m. (ET).
