Total Of 78 Ferris State Student-Athletes Achieve Fall GLIAC All-Academic Laurels
Big Rapids, Mich. - A total of 78 Ferris State University student-athletes have achieved 2015 Fall Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) All-Academic & All-Academic Excellence Team honors as the announcement was made by the league office on Friday.
The 78 Bulldog student-athletes represent six different fall sports programs, including volleyball, football, women's soccer, women's tennis along with men's and women's cross country.
Overall, a total of 1,162 student-athletes achieved all-academic recognition from across the 16 conference member institutions, including 577 on the All-Academic team and 585 on the All-Excellence list.
Criteria states the student-athlete must be an active member on the roster at the end of the season, not a freshman or a first year transfer student. All-Academic Teams are comprised of those student-athletes that meet criteria and carry a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0-3.49. Academic Excellence Teams are comprised of student athletes that have a cumulative GPA of 3.50-4.0. Grades are based on marks from the fall semester of 2015.
