NCAA To Limit Access To Division II Regional Tournaments This Weekend

Official Drury University Release (Women's Tourney)
Official Univ. of Indianapolis Release (Men's Tourney)

Big Rapids, Mich. - Due to the NCAA announcement on Wednesday regarding the COVID-19 virus, access to this weekend's NCAA Division II Men's and Women's Basketball Regional Tournaments involving the Ferris State Bulldogs is limited and the general public will not be admitted.

The NCAA announced on Wednesday updated protocols for its upcoming championship events due to the spread of COVID-19, which includes the DII Men's Basketball Midwest Regional to be held at Nicoson Hall at the University of Indianapolis on March 14-17 along with the DII Women's Basketball Midwest Regional hosted by Drury University in Springfield, Mo., set for March 13-16.

"The NCAA Board of Governors made a decision to limit the number of attendees at NCAA championships for the winter season," the NCAA released in a statement. "This decision is in the best interest of public health, including that of coaches, administrators, fans and our student-athletes."

As a result, the general public will not be allowed to attend the upcoming regional tournaments. However, each team's travel party will have access to a limited number of tickets for family members.

Previously purchased online tickets will be refunded as details are worked out with the NCAA in the days ahead.

If you have questions about the NCAA protocols and how this may affect your plans, please see the full statement from NCAA President Mark Emmert at the link below. Stay tuned for additional information on both tournaments as it becomes available:
