#14 Ferris State Suffers First Setback Of Season On The Road At Findlay

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's basketball squad, which entered the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Division II National Rankings at #14 on Tuesday (Nov. 23), suffered its first setback of the season with a 86-74 regional decision to the hands of the Findlay Oilers at Croy Gymnasium.

The host Oilers won the game in Findlay by building a 40-29 halftime lead en route to the win. With the loss, FSU is now 4-1 overall this year.

Senior guard Walt Kelser led the way for the Bulldogs with a team-high 18 points while adding seven rebounds with sophomore Ben Davidson also totaling 18 points. They were joined in double-digits by senior forward Dorian Aluyi, who notched a double-double with 15 points and 10 boards. Senior big man Logan Ryan added 12 points in the game.

FSU shot 47.3% overall, but went only four-of-19 (21.1%) from long range. Ferris State did make 18-of-19 (94.7%) free throws.

Meanwhile, Findlay shot at a 48.3% clip and finished seven-of-15 (46.7%) from the three-point arc in addition to 21-of-26 (80.8%) at the line. 

The Oilers were led by Ethan Linder, who netted a game-high 21 points off the bench. He was one of five Findlay players to reach double-figure scoring.

Ferris State will return to action at home on Sunday (Nov. 28) as FSU returns from the Thanksgiving holiday to host Lincoln (Pa.) in non-league action at Jim Wink Arena. Tipoff is set for 1 p.m. (ET).
