Ferris State Winning Streak Snapped By NMU In Michigan's Upper Peninsula

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's basketball squad had its six-game winning streak snapped on Friday (Dec. 9) as the Bulldogs dropped a 89-77 decision to Northern Michigan in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) play at the Berry Events Center in Marquette.

The Bulldogs fell behind 38-30 at halftime and were outscored 51-47 in the second frame by the Wildcats. FSU fell to 6-3 overall this year and 2-1 in the GLIAC while the Wildcats moved to 7-3 overall and 2-1 in conference play.

Ferris State was led by Amari Lee with 14 points off the bench. Both Ben Davidson and Vejas Grazulis added 12 points while Solomon Oraegbu netted 11 points and Ethan Erickson totaled 10 points.

FSU shot 41.3% from the floor, but finished only five-of-19 (26.3%) from long range while going 20-of-25 (80%) at the free throw line.

The Bulldogs had 21 turnovers overall and finished with a 38-35 rebounding edge.

The Wildcats were paced by Max Bjorklund and Dylan Kuehl with 18 points each. Brian Parzych added 17 points, Sam Privet notched 12 points and Carson Smith compiled 11 points.

Ferris State will look to get back on track Sunday (Dec. 11) as FSU faces Michigan Tech starting at 3 p.m. (ET) in Houghton.
