Ferris State Stays Unbeaten After Overtime Triumph At Lake Erie

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's basketball squad stayed unbeaten on the season as the Bulldogs posted a 80-76 overtime win over host Lake Erie on Saturday (Nov. 11) in regional crossover action in Painesville, Ohio.

The Bulldogs kicked off the 2023-24 season with a perfect 2-0 mark following their second regional win in as many days.

In Saturday's outing, the Bulldogs took a 34-29 halftime lead before being outscored 39-34 in the second half of play, However, FSU had the answer in overtime with a 12-8 margin to earn the win.

Ferris State got a game-high 22 points from junior guard Ethan Erickson, who knocked down four three's in the victory. DeSean Munson added 15 points and eight boards while Ben Davidson and Reece Hazelton tallied 11 points each.

FSU shot 38.8% from the floor and six-of-21 (28.6%) from behind the three-point arc while making 22-of-26 (84.6% free throws.

The Bulldogs beat the Storm 47-41 on the glass and had only nine turnovers in the contest.

Lake Erie finished shooting 44.8% for the night and went seven-of-19 (36.8%) from the three-point line in addition to only nine-of-21 (42.9%) at the charity stripe.

Ferris State will return home to host Cleary University in its home opener on Wednesday, Nov. 15, with tipoff set for 7 p.m. (ET) inside Jim Wink Arena.
