#17 Ferris State Races Past Fanshawe In Return From Holiday Break

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's basketball squad, which is ranked 17th in the country, returned from the holiday break in a big way, beating Fanshawe (Ontario) by a 100-48 score on Friday (Dec. 29) afternoon inside FSU's Jim Wink Arena.

The Bulldogs nailed 14 three-pointers and dished out 34 assists in improving to 10-2 overall this season. The game was FSU's first back from the mandatory holiday break and opened up a two-game weekend home set in Big Rapids

A total of 12 FSU players saw action in the win and all had significant contributions as FSU raced past the Falcons. Four reached double-figure scoring with the trio of Dolapo Olayinka, Ben Davidson and Ethan Erickson posting 15 points apiece to go along with 10 by senior Vejas Grazulis. Senior guard Jack Ammerman added nine points and three others totaled eight points in the balanced effort.

The Bulldogs shot 46.7% (14-30) from long range and hit 56.1% of their field goals overall to go with a 12-of-15 (80%) showing at the free throw line. FSU built a 47-24 halftime lead and cruised to the win.

Along with posting 34 assists on 37 made baskets, Ferris State also outrebounded Fanshawe 46-36 and the Bulldogs blocked 14 shots while registering 13 steals. Olayinka had a squad-best four blocks and Amari Lee totaled four steals to lead FSU in that category. He also dished out a team-leading nine assists.

Ferris State held the Falcons to 29.6% shooting on the defensive end and Fanshawe finished only two-of-15 (13.3%) from three-point range and four-of-nine (44.4%) at the free throw line.

The Falcons were led by Josh Loblaw with a game-high 16 points, but he was the lone Fanshawe player to reach double-figures.

The Bulldogs will host Kuyper College on Saturday (Dec. 30) with tipoff set for 3 p.m. (ET) inside Wink Arena. It will be Kids Day with all youth ages 10 and under admitted free at the door.
