Ferris State Men's Golf Takes 11th Over The Weekend At The Jewell

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's golf team wrapped up weekend action at The Jewell with an 11th-place team finish on Saturday and Sunday (April 2-3) in Batavia, Ohio.

The Bulldogs carded a two-round 627 team figure with scores of 318 on day one and 309 in the final round of competition. The event served as the third regional invitational of the campaign.

Sophomore Jack Weller paced FSU as he came in tied for sixth place overall with a 149 total on rounds of 77 and even-par 72 in the final 18 holes.

Meanwhile, sophomore Seth Terpstra placed tied for 20th with a 154 score as he shot a first-round 79 before coming back with a 75 on the final day.

FSU sophomore Ryan Bayer finished in a share of 41st place with a 157 figure. After posting a 78 on Saturday, he fired a 79 in Sunday's round.

The Bulldogs' Andrew Hammett, a freshman, came away with a share of 102nd place at 167 on rounds of 84 and 83 over the two days, respectively, while senior Zak Kiefer finished 119th overall at 174 on rounds of 89 and 85 in the tournament.

A total of 25 teams competed in the regional event, which was hosted by Bellarmine University at Elks Run Golf Club in Batavia.

Ferris State will next take part in the fourht regioanl event on April 10-11, which will be held in Noblesville, Ind.
