
Ferris State Men's Golf Fifth After Day One At Doc Spragg Invite In Ohio
Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's golf team started play on Monday (Oct. 14) at the Doc Spragg Invite in Ohio and sits in fifth place overall after day one competition.
The event is being hosted by the University of Findlay and features 19 competing squads in the two-day tournament.
In day one action, the Bulldogs shot even par for the opening two rounds, notching a six-under total in round one before finishing six-over in round two. The Bulldogs shot scores of 282 and 294 for a 576 day one figure.
Overall, the day's low score was posted by Grand Valley State with a 599 followed by Findlay (567), Ashland (574) and Wayne State (575) directly in front of FSU.
FSU's Sam Havey is presently tied for fourth individually with a 140 score as he shot a 68 in round one along with a 72 in round two.
The Bulldogs' Kole Putnam sits tied for sixth in the field at 141 overall with an impressive round of 67 over the first 18 holes followed by a 74 in the second round.
Ferris State's McCoy Biagioli shot a 147 on Monday and is tied fro 37th overall. Biagioli shots scores of 73 in round one and 74 in round two.
Meanwhile, Zach Koerner notched a 148 with identical rounds of 74 on Monday and is tied for 46th on the leaderboard.
Also, Shayne Beaufait came in tied for 62nd with a 151 day one total, carding a 77 in the first round and a 74 in the second round of action.
The event is taking place at the Findlay Country Club.
The final round is slated to begin on Tuesday (Oct. 15) starting at 9 a.m. (ET).
