Ferris State Finishes Ninth Overall At Doc Spragg Fall Invite

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's golf team finished ninth overall on Tuesday (Oct. 15) as play wrapped up at the Doc Spragg Fall Invite held in Findlay, Ohio.

The Bulldogs carded a 17-over par score of 881 overall for the 54 holes of competition, which included a 305 team figure in the final round. FSU had shot a 282 in round one on Monday along with a 294 second-round score.

The event was won by Grand Valley State with an 840 total followed by Ashland (862) and host Findlay (866) in the top three of the 19-team field.

Ferris State's McCoy Biagioli shot a one-over par 73 in the final round and moved up 10 spots to 27th place overall in leading FSU. 

Meanwhile, Kole Putnam also tied for 27th on the leaderboard and carded a 79 in the final round of play.

Ferris State's Sam Havey fired an 81 in the the last round and finished tied for 34th in the field while Zach Koerner notched a 77 and wound up tied for 55th overall. Finally, Shayne Beaufait took a share of 63rd place and posted a 76 over the final 18 holes of play.

The Bulldogs will close out the fall campaign on Oct. 28-29 at the Bill Crabtree Invitational in Owensboro, Ky.
