Ferris State Golf Squads Wrap Up Return To Action At FIndianapolis Invitational

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's and women's golf teams jumped back into action early this week as both squads competed in the FIndianapolis Invitational held at Chariot Run Golf Club in Laconia, Ind.

The Bulldog women placed fourth in the regional event while the men compiled an eighth-place team finish.

On the women's side, Ferris State carded a 929 score for the 54 holes of action. FSU shot a 310 figure in the first and third rounds with a 309 total in the middle round. Findlay won the women's team event with a 882 total followed by Missouri-St. Louis (911) and Indianapolis (920) in front of the Bulldogs.

Kamryn Shannon led Ferris State with a 12th-place individual finish as she shot rounds of 78, 75 and 77 to finish with a 230 total.

Meanwhile, Kylie Walker came in tied for 15th with a 231 total followed by Ashley Thomasma in a share of 19th place (234). Lizzie Anderson placed tied for 26th (241) with Taylor Musselman tied for 40th (247) in the field.

Th Bulldog men's team carded a 298 team figure in round one and then notched rounds of 296 in the second round and 293 in round three to finish at 887 for the three rounds. Charleston (W.Va.) captured first place with a 869 total while both Saginaw Valley State and Indianapolis tied for second at 876 overall.

Ferris State was led in the men's event by McCoy Biagioli, who placed 13th with a 218 figure. He shot a 77 in round one followed by a 72 in round two and a 69 in the third round.

FSU's Sam Havey tied for 14th overall at 220 for the three rounds while Kole Putnam cam in tied for 20th with a 222 total. Zach Koerner shot a 228 for a share of 38th place and Drayton Cleaver posted a 234 score for a share of 47th place.

The Bulldog women will next take part in the NC4K Classic on April 7-8 in Grove City, Ohio, while the men's squad will compete at the Ken Partridge Invitational on April 6-7 in Noblesville, Ind.
