Ferris State Hockey Awards Banquet Set For April 16

The Ferris State University men's ice hockey team will officially put the finishing touches on its highly-successful 2009-10 season at the FSU Blueline Club's annual awards banquet on Friday, April 16, at the Falcon Head Golf Club in Big Rapids, Mich.  

The nationally-ranked Bulldogs recently concluded their 2009-10 campaign with a 21-13-6 overall record, which included a third-place 13-9-6-4 Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA) mark (49 league points).  The 21 victories this season tied for the fourth most wins by a Bulldog team in the program's history.  Ferris State, under 18th-year head coach Bob Daniels, also made its fifth-ever CCHA Championship appearance and its fourth league playoff showing at Joe Louis Arena in Detroit, Mich. 

The postseason awards banquet starts with a social hour from 6-6:30 p.m. (EDT) followed by dinner at 6:30 p.m. (EDT).  The awards portion of the program begins at 7:30 p.m. (EDT).  A highlight of the awards banquet will honor the 26 student-athletes on the 2009-10 team with a special tribute to the six graduating seniors - Blair Riley (Kamloops, British Columbia), Matt Case (Plymouth, Minn.), Cody Chupp (Big Rapids), Jordan Barber (Caledonia), Casey Haines (Indiana, Pa.), and Aaron Lewicki (Livonia).  A video highlight of the 2009-10 season will also be featured.   

Cost for the awards banquet is $20 per person and $10 for children under age 12.  Those who wish may also sponsor a player(s) for $20 apiece.  You may register up until Monday, April 12, 2010.  For banquet tickets and/or more information, please contact Marcia Cebulla at (231) 592-5316.
