Former Bulldog Nagle Posts Playoff Shutout

Big Rapids, Mich. – Former Ferris State University All-America goaltender Pat Nagle made 34 saves and earned a playoff shutout win for the Florida Everblades in a 2-0 victory over the Kalamazoo Wings in game one of the ECHL Eastern Conference Finals on Friday night in his home state at Wings Stadium in Kalamazoo.

His performance held the Everblades take a 1-0 lead in the seven-game series.  Kalamazoo came back to even the playoff series at a game apiece despite 19 saves from Nagle in a 3-2 decision on Saturday night.

In Friday's playoff contest, Nagle stopped all 17 shots faced in the third period to secure the 2-0 victory. He recorded his second shutout of the postseason by making 34 saves.

The series will next shift to Florida for game three at Germain Arena in Estero, Fla., on Wednesday, May 2, at 7:30 p.m. (ET) and game four on Thursday, May 3. If necessary, the Everblades would also host game five on Saturday, May 5.

A native of Bloomfield, Mich., Nagle appeared in 39 regular-season games with the Everblades this season while posting a record of 20-14-3 with one shutout, a 2.87 goals-against average and a save percentage of .905.  He finished the regular-season listed ninth in wins among all ECHL goaltenders.

Prior to rejoining the Everblades in late March, Nagle also served seven games as the Norfolk Admirals' backup goaltender in the American Hockey League (AHL).

A rookie under contract to the Tampa Bay Lighting of the National Hockey League, Nagle played four seasons at Ferris State where he compiled an overall record of 45-42-11 with five shutouts, a 2.32 goals-against average and a save percentage of .917.
