Two Bulldog Hockey Coaching Staff Members To Speak On Campus

Big Rapids, Mich. - Ferris State University men's ice hockey fans and the general public will have an opportunity to hear from two award-winning Bulldog coaching staff members on Wednesday, April 17, in an open class presentation.

Bulldog Hockey head coach Bob Daniels and Associate Head Coach Drew Famulak will speak in an open forum as part of the Sports Communication Program's COMM 389 class.  The discussion will take place in Room 211 of the Business Building on the FSU campus from 4:30 to 5:45 p.m. (ET). The course is taught by Sandy Alspach.

Daniels was tabbed as the 2011-12 American Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA) Division I National Coach of the Year for his efforts in leading the Bulldogs to the national championship game for the first time in school history a year ago.  He also directed FSU to its first-ever Frozen Four appearance and the school's second-ever Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA) Regular-Season title.

Meanwhile, Famulak was recognized as last year's 2012 AHCA Terry Flanagan Award recipient, which honors one assistant coach across the country each season for his efforts based on an entire career body of work.

They wil share stories from this year's season and plans for the team's transition to the Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) beginning next year.

There is no admission fee to listen to the presentation and the public is invited to attend.
