Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's ice hockey team battled to a narrow 1-0 loss to the nationally #14 Michigan Tech Huskies on Friday (Jan. 20) at the Ewigleben Ice Arena in Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA) play.

Ferris State got a sparkling performance in goal from sophomore goaltender Noah Giesbrecht while FSU held Michigan Tech 0-6 on the power play for the night.

The Huskies scored the game's only goal with 12.8 seconds to go in the first when Kyle Kukkonen tallied from the bottom of the left wing face off circle on the rebound.

The Bulldogs battoned down the discipline in the third period, but could not break down the Huskies defense and succumbed to the 1-0 setback.

In goal, Giesbrecht made 33 saves on 34 shots in the effort. Ferris State finished 0-5 on the power play on the night.

Michigan Tech held a 34-21 lead in shots on goal with Blake Pietila earning a 21-save shutout victory for Michigan Tech.

Ferris State wraps up the season series with the Huskies on Saturday (Jan. 21) at 6:07 p.m. (ET).
