Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's ice hockey team, in conjunction with the Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA), have released the 2023-24 league schedule with the Bulldogs slated for 12 home CCHA games this season. Ferris State's non-league schedule will be released at a later date.

The Bulldogs open up their CCHA slate on the road with a fall trip to CCHA Tournament runner-up Northern Michigan on Oct. 27-28 at the Berry Events Center. FSU opens its home league schedule looking for revenge from the 2023 CCHA Semifinals agains the CCHA Champion Minnesota State Mavericks on Nov. 10-11.

Ferris State will make a second Upper Peninsula fall trip when the Bulldogs visit one of the CCHA's two 2023 NCAA Tournament teams in the Michigan Tech Huskies on Nov. 17-18, before returning home to see the St. Thomas Tommies after a week break for Thanksgiving on Dec. 1-2.

To wrap 2023's road portion of the schedule, Ferris State makes the short trip to Bowling Green on Dec. 8-9, where the Bulldogs went 3-0-1 last season (the tie was a shootout victory), including a CCHA Quarterfinal road sweep of the Falcons. Ferris State played three overtime games at the Slater Family Ice Arena last season and won both playoff games in the extra session.

FSU then hosts Lake Superior State in the first of four meetings between the two longtime conference foes in Big Rapids on Dec. 16.

Opening the New Year, FSU gets an early home series against Bemidji State on Jan. 5-6, whom the Bulldogs defeated with a dramatic last-minute goal this past season at home in February. The Bulldogs begin the first of three long second-half road trips at Minnesota State on Jan. 12-13 before returning home to see Lake Superior State again on Jan. 19 to open a weekend home-and-home series with the second matchup slated for Jan. 20 in Sault Ste. Marie.

In a special feature to the league schedule, Ferris State will have its first-ever meetings with Augustana (South Dakota), as the Bulldogs meet the Vikings for two games that will not count towards the league standings on Jan. 26-27. The Vikings are in their inaugural season and will play every CCHA team for two games. The Vikings recently hired Ferris State All-American Goaltender from the 2012 NCAA Frozen Four Run, Taylor Nelson, to be an assistant coach.

Following their return from South Dakota, the Bulldogs welcome in rival Bowling Green on Feb. 2-3 and then get a quick turnaround for a Thursday-Friday series at Bemidji State on Feb. 15-16.

The net result of the early series is an extra day of preparation for Senior Weekend on Feb. 23-24 when the Bulldogs entertain Northern Michigan. Ferris State wraps up the CCHA schedule on March 1 at Lake Superior State in Sault St. Marie.

The quest for the Mason Cup Championship begins with the CCHA Quarterfinals on March 8-10 with the CCHA Semifinals set for March 16. The CCHA Championship game date is to be announced. The tournament will be played on campus sites.
