FSU Wraps Up Weekend Homestand With Impressive Victory

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's tennis team wrapped up an impressive weekend homestand by beating Michigan Tech on Sunday (March 24) by a 8-1 score in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) action inside the FSU Racquet and Fitness Center in Big Rapids.

The Bulldogs won their second match in as many days to improve to 8-2 overall and 5-0 in conference play this season.  FSU had posted a 9-0 win over Lake Superior State in Saturday's league home match to start the homestand.

Ferris State again bolted out to a quick start by winning all three doubles flights, including an 8-6 win at the number one position in the lineup.

In singles play, Ferris State took five of the six spots with MTU's lone victory coming in three-sets at the number three flight.  FSU also won a three-setter at number four singles and the other four wins came in straight-sets.

The Bulldogs hit the road to continue GLIAC play next weekend as FSU visits Lake Erie, Walsh and Malone over a three-day span from Thursday to Saturday (March 28-30).  The stretch begins a five-match conference road swing for the Bulldogs prior to the regular-season home finale on April 12 versus Grand Valley State in Big Rapids.
