Ferris State Tennis Completes Weekend Sweep To Stay Unbeaten In The GLIAC

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's tennis squad completed a weekend road sweep in Michigan's Upper Peninsula as the Bulldogs shutout Lake Superior State 9-0 on Sunday (March 29) at the Arbuckle Student Activity Center in Sault Ste. Marie.

The Bulldogs stayed unbeaten and atop the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) standings at 5-0 with the win. FSU also improved to 11-5 overall this campaign after beating both Michigan Tech and LSSU on the road this weekend.

In Sunday's match against the Lakers, the Bulldogs took the three doubles flights in decisive fashion by scores of 8-4, 8-2 and 8-3 at the first, second and third spots, respectively.

The Bulldogs then came back in singles competition to take all six flights in straight-sets while recording the sweep over the Lakers.

LSSU fell to 2-13 overall and 0-6 in conference action with the loss.

Ferris State, which is currently ranked 47th nationally and among the top five teams in the Midwest Region, has won four-straight outings to date this year and five of its last six overall.

The Bulldogs will hit the road to face regional foe Lewis (Ill.) in non-league play on Thursday (April 2) with match time set for 12 p.m. (ET) in Romeoville, Ill. FSU will then resume GLIAC play at home against archrival Northwood on April 9 at the Ferris State Racquet & Fitness Center.
