FSU's Benjamin Lortie Tabbed As GLIAC Men's Tennis Player Of Week

Big Rapids, Mich. - Ferris State University senior men's tennis standout Benjamin Lortie (Gatineau, Quebec) has been chosen as the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Player of the Week.

Lortie led the Bulldogs to three consecutive victories at home this past weekend as FSU improved to 5-1 overall this year. The Bulldog veteran went unbeaten on the weekend, posting a 2-0 singles record at the number one flight along with a 1-0 doubles mark at the top spot in the lineup.

He earned a three-set triumph over Grace's Javi Gallego on Friday to open the weekend, pulling out a 6-4 win in the final frame at the one spot. The FSU senior then won in straight-sets on Saturday at the top flight in FSU's 7-0 regional sweep over Lewis before closing the weekend by teaming up with Esunge Ndumbe for a 6-3 victory at one doubles in Sunday's 6-1 regional victory over Hillsdale.

The Bulldogs will head to Florida for their annual spring break trip next week and open the stretch by taking on Belmont on Monday (March 4) beginning at 11 a.m. (ET).
