Ferris State Track & Field Posts Large Number Of Personal "Bests" At GVSU Big Meet

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's and women's indoor track and field squads had a big weekend as the Bulldogs competed in the Grand Valley State "Big Meet" on Friday and Saturday (Feb. 12-13) inside the Kelly Family Sports Center in Allendale.

The Bulldogs established a large number of personal bests in the competition, which included a large field with student-athletes from nearly every level of action across the region.

Junior Logan Hammer captured sixth place in the men's mile run (4:18.43) with Casey Neal coming in 16th in the same race (4:23.74) and sophomore Jake Morey 19th (4:25.20).

Bulldog junior Damonta Madden placed 13th overall in the men's 200 meters (22.19).

Junior Hayden Francisco placed 16th in the shot put (46-4.25). Kyle Richardson finished 16th in the men's 3,000 meters (8:50.04).

On the women's side, Emily Haynes finished ninth in the 5,000 meters (10:17.72) with sophomore Jessica Delaney coming in 15th overall (10:24.98) in the same event.

FSU's Jordan Lee took 13th place in the women's 800 meters (2:18.98) on Saturday. Meanwhile, sophomore Paige Koskinen was 14th in the mile run (5:21.46).

Rachel Long came in 17th in the women's weight throw (49-00.25).

The Bulldogs are back in action on Friday (Feb. 19) back in Allendale at the GVSU Tune-Up meet, which serves as a final run prior to the GLIAC Indoor Championships on Feb. 27-28 in Tiffin, Ohio.
