Ferris State Track & Field Competes In GLIAC Outdoor Championships This Week

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's and women's outdoor track and field teams will take part in the 2017 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Outdoor Track and Field Championships, which take place Wednesday thru Friday (May 3-5) in Allendale.

The annual league meet will be hosted by Grand Valley State University at the GVSU Track and Field Stadium. Adult tickets are $7 per day or $10 for a two-day pass with student tickets $3 per day and senior citizens $5 per day.

Multis events kick things off on Wednesday while field and running events start Thursday with preliminary heats. Champions will be crowned following finals races on Friday.

All 15 league member schools will take part in one of the most highly anticipated NCAA Division II meets throughout the country.

The GLIAC meet begins at 1:30 p.m. (ET) on Wednesday with the start of the men's 100 meters in the multi-events. The bulk of the events kick off on Thursday with the competition beginning at 2:30 p.m.

The third and final day of action is on Friday with field events beginning at 10 a.m. followed by trakc events starting at 11 a.m.

Scoring in the meet will be on a 10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1 for eight places for individuals and relay events.
