Strong Start For Bulldog Track Squads In 2022 GLIAC Outdoor Championships On Day One

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's and women's outdoor track and field squads opened action with a strong start at the 2022 GLIAC Outdoor Championships on Thursday (May 5) in Allendale.

The Bulldogs had several personal-best performances and a number of student-athletes advance to Friday's finals in the annual league postseason championship meet.

Ferris State's Danae Feldpausch moved into the finals in the women's 800 meters as she clocked the sixth-best qualifying time with a 2:14.40 performance. Teammate Daisy Englund had the 11th-best time (2:19.19) and was only a few seconds off advancing in the event.

FSU's Emma Stephayn wound up eighth in the women's hammer throw (44.00m). Hannah Loucks placed ninth overall in the women's 10,000 meters (38:55.67).

Meanwhile, Callie Delaney was 11th in the 3,000-meter steeplechase (11:57.12). Isabel Dziadzio finished 12th in the women's javelin (27.72m).

The Bulldogs' Jason Keena placed fifth overall in the men's javelin (47.20m) with Travis Feldpausch ninth (38.44m). Kyle Drouillard took ninth place in the men's hammer throw (44.46m).

Brandon Wirth came in 10th in the men's 3,000-meter steeplechase (9:37.92).

FSU's Dan Hardesty narrowly missed advancing to the finals in the men's 1,500 meters with a time of 3:58.71, which was 13th an only a spot shy of advancing.

The final day of action is on Friday with field events beginning at 11 a.m. followed by track events starting at 12:10 p.m.
