
Ferris State's Devin Dennison Earns Invitation To NCAA D2 Outdoor Championships

Big Rapids, Mich. - Ferris State University's Devin Dennison (Alma), a sophomore thrower, has earned an invitation to compete in the 2025 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
Dennison received his first berth in the national championships in the men's hammer throw with the competition set to take place on May 22-24 n Pueblo, Colo.
The NCAA Division II Men's and Women's Track and Field Committee announced the participants for the 2025 NCAA Division II Men's and Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championships. Student-athletes qualified for the championships by reaching a provisional standard established for each event. For each individual event contested, the top 22 declared student-athletes were accepted into the competition, the top 16 declared relay teams, one per institution, were accepted, and for the heptathlon and decathlon the top 16 declared student-athletes were accepted into the competition.
The championships will be held May 22-24 in Pueblo at the CSU Pueblo Thunderbowl. Colorado State University Pueblo will serve as the host of the championships. The championships will be streamed live on NCAA.com.
Dennison holds the country's 20th-best overall toss this year in the hammer throw heading into the national championships. The event will take place at 5:30 pm (CT) on Thursday, May 22.
This season, Dennison earned runner-up honors in the hammer throw at the 2025 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Outdoor Championships held May 1-2 in Allendale. He recorded a NCAA qualifying throw of 193-6 at the league championships with the school's fourth-best all-time effort ever. He also placed third in the discus (159-1) at the conference meet, earning All-GLIAC accolades in both events.
Dennison helped the Bulldogs' men's and women's squads combine for their best overall effort at the league championships this spring in nearly two decades.
