Bio

High School: Member of 2009 Division I state championship team at Hudsonville (Mich.) High in senior year . . . Attained first-team all-state, all-region, and All-Ottawa-Kent Red Conference recognition in 2008 as a junior . . . Coached by Tom Vruggink . . . A 2009 graduate . . . Picked up all-district kudos and was selected to The Advance newspaper All-Area First Team in junior year . . . Tabbed as the 2008 team's Most Valuable Player after hitting for a .415 average with 51 hits and 33 RBIs in 123 at bats . . . Also recorded 12 doubles, two triples, four home runs, and scored 18 runs while generating a .765 fielding percentage in 2008 as squad went 33-7 overall with both conference and district championship titles . . . Batted .283 as a sophomore in 2007 season after notching 30 hits in 106 at bats, which included five doubles, two triples, and two roundtrippers . . . Drove in 15 runs and tallied eight more to go with an .811 fielding percentage in the 2007 campaign . . . Went one-of-three (double) at the plate in the Eagles' 2-1 state tourney semifinal-round contest in 2007 . . . Member of the 2007 team which compiled a 26-14 overall ledger while capturing district, regional, and quarterfinal round championships.
