Ferris State Softball Lands Iowa Standout Pitcher Ashley Webb

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University softball program, which concluded the 2023 season with its most wins in seven years, has landed one of the state of Iowa's top standouts as Ashley Webb (Iowa City) has inked with the Bulldogs.

A two-time all-state honoree, Webb is the latest signee for the Bulldogs this spring under first-year head coach Jake Schumann. The standout left-handed pitcher has been honored as her conference's player of the year during her prep career and will embark on her senior campaign prior to joining FSU this fall as Iowa plays its high school schedule during the summer.

"Ashley is a fiery left-handed pitcher with a great combination of spin and velocity," Schumann said. "She is a competitor and fits what it means to be a Bulldog in the circle. We look for Ashley to make an immediate impact not only on the field, but on campus as well."

Webb was tabbed as the Scheels Player of the Week and has been a member of the National Honor Society along with serving on the student council.

The Bulldogs reached the GLIAC Tournament this season under Schumann's direction and finished in the top four of the league standings during regular-season play. FSU finished regular-season play this year FSU finished by winning three of its last four contests and five of the final eight games overall.
