Ferris State Drops Two Games In Saturday Action At Music City Invite

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State Softball squad dropped a pair of games in day two action at the Music City Invitational near Nashville on Saturday (Feb. 17), falling to Harding 9-2 along with host Trevecca Nazarene by a 7-2 score.

In the opener, Harding scored five runs in the opening inning and pounded out 11 hits while limiting FSU to six overall.

Ferris State was led at the plate in game one by catcher Emily Killion, who had three hits. Freshman Alexis Kozlowski notched a double and joined Killion with an RBI.

Four different pitchers saw action for the Bulldogs and allowed seven earned runs on 11 hits with three strikeouts and two walks overall.

In game two, the Bulldogs were tied up with host Trevecca Nazarene going into the fourth inning, but TNU scored three times in the fourth and added single runs in each of its final two at-bats to garner the victory. The Bulldogs were outhit by a 9-6 count in the game.

Both Kozlowski and first baseman Brooklyn Verbeek tallied two hits apiece and Kozlowski drove in two runs for the Bulldogs while producing a double at the plate.

Senior Aryn Gallacher pitched three and two-thirds of an inning for the Bulldogs, giving up four runs on five hits with a strikeout. Catherine O'Donohue threw two innings and struck out two while allowing a single run on four hits. Izzy Regner pitched one and one-third of an inning and posted four K's with no earned runs or hits allowed.

The Bulldogs will close out the Music City Invite against Thomas More in regional play on Sunday (Feb. 18) starting at 1 p.m. (ET).
