In the opener, Ferris State scored once in the first, twice in the third and once more in both the fourth and fifth innings while outhitting the Rangers 10-4 for the contest.

Senior ace pitcher Aryn Gallacher put together another stellar performance, earning the complete game shutout in seven innings of work. She struck out three and walked two while allowing only four total hits and no runs in the triumph.

However, the Rangers responded to score once in the fourth and four times in the fifth while holding FSU to a single run the rest of the way in the bottom of the seventh. Overall, Parkside finished with 14 hits to 12 for the Bulldogs.

The Bulldogs used four pitchers in the game and the combination of Ashley Webb, Sophie Wisniski, Gallacher and Izzy Regner combined to allow eight earned runs on 14 hits with five strikeouts and two walks.

Offensively, Ferris State got doubles from Verbeek and shortstop Emma Gillard. Catcher Emily Killion joined Gillard and Meyer with two hits. Both Killion and Gillard also finished with two RBI's each.
