Bio

Jeannine Ravellette will commence her third season as an assistant on the Ferris State University softball coaching staff with the start of the 2011 campaign.

Ravellette will assist with all facets of the game with her primary responsibility being to work directly with Lesa Bickley in managing the Bulldog pitching staff.

"Jeannine brings excellent experience and knowledge to our program," said Ferris State head coach Keri Becker. "We are lucky to be blessed with yet another dedicated individual that makes our players better. She is very knowledgeable about the technical and strategic aspects of pitching and provides yet another set of eyes to help troubleshoot and improve the skills of our pitching staff."

Ravellette arrived to Ferris State from Southeast Missouri State University where her main responsibility to the program was serving as pitching coach and recruiting coordinator. Additionally, she assisted in organizing the Redhawks' youth camps and clinics.

Under her direction, the Southeast Missouri State pitching staff has made their mark on the program's record books. In 2006, the RedHawks' pitching staff ranked in the top 10 in both total innings pitched and second in strikeouts with 254 total.

As a collegiate student-athlete from 1996-2000, the former Jeannine Soncini was a starting pitcher and designated player at the University of Northern Iowa and a solid performer academically. She helped her team to two runner-up finishes in the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) Tournament in 1998 and 1999.

During her junior year in 1999, Ravellette earned MVC All-Tournament Team accolades and established a single season strikeout record at Northern Iowa. In 2000, she helped lead her team to the regular season MVC championship title en route to attaining second-team all-conference accolades. In the classroom, Soncini received Northern Iowa's Perfect Panther Award for registering a 4.0 cumulative grade point average in a semester and was named to the Dean's List several times. Ravellette was both a first-team All-MVC Academic Team selection and a GTE Academic All-America District Team member in 2000. She served on the university's Student Athletic Advisory Council during her and was UNI's SAAC President from 1999 to 2000.

Prior to college, Ravellette competed with the Orland Park Sparks softball organization out of the Chicagoland area for four years helping them to a seventh-place finish in 1995 and a national championship in 1996.

Ravellette graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Northern Iowa in 2000 with a degree in Political Science and a minor in Criminology. She is currently working on completing her Masters in Public Administration at Southeast Missouri State.

She's married to current Ferris State football assistant coach Eric Ravellette, who's in charge of the Bulldogs' offensive line and also serves as the program's recruiting coordinator.
