Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's basketball squad battled NCAA Division I Bowling Green in the opening half before suffering a 100-50 exhibition setback to the Falcons on Saturday (Nov. 5) afternoon at the Stroh Center in Bowling Green, Ohio.

The Bulldogs and the Falcons were even after one quarter at 14 points apiece before BGSU took a 20-point halftime lead. The Falcons then outscored FSU by 15 points in each of the final two periods to earn the win.

Ferris State was paced by junior forward Rachel McInerney, who totaled a squad-best 15 points with eight rebounds. FSU also received 12 points from guard Ally Christman with Riley Blair adding eight points off the bench.

The Bulldogs shot 37.7% overall from the field and were four-of-16 (25%) from three-point range along with six-of-14 (43%) at the free throw line.

Meanwhile, the Falcons shot 52% overall and sank 15-of-32 (46.9%) three's along with nine-of-12 (75%) free throws.

Bowling Green owned a slim 38-35 rebounding edge and forced 21 FSU turnovers, which led to a 27-5 BGSU edge in points off turnovers. They also outscored the Bulldogs 34-24 in the paint and 30-2 on the break.

The Falcons were led by both Rachel Myers and Caterrion Thompson, who totaled 19 points apiece. Carly Santoro added 11 points and Ashley Tunstall chipped in with 10 points as Bowling Green placed four in double-digits.

In addition to McInerney's eight reobunds on the FSU side, the Bulldogs also received five boards from guard Renee Sturm

Ferris State will return home to officially open the regular-season by hosting its own Bulldog Classic next weekend at FSU's Jim Wink Arena. The Bulldogs open the event by hosting Bellarmine (Ky.) on Friday (Nov. 11) starting at 6 p.m. (ET).
