Ferris State Women's Basketball Moves To 2-0 With Road Victory At Cedarville

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's basketball squad capped off an unbeaten season-opening weekend as FSU moved to 2-0 on the year with a 76-66 regional road triumph at Cedarville (Ohio) on Saturday (Nov. 12) night.

The Bulldogs claimed their second road win in as many days on the heels of a six-point victory at Ohio Dominican on Friday evening.

In Saturday's second contest of the weekend, senior forward Chloe Idoni continued her impressive early season play, totaling a team-high 22 points on an eight-of-10 effort from the floor. She also converted all six of her free throw attempts and grabbed five rebounds.

Along with Idoni, FSU sophomore Kenzie Bowers added 19 points and seven boards while DeShonna Day contributed 14 points. Junior guard Kadyn Blanchard totaled 13 points and grabbed 10 boards in a double-double performance as FSU placed four in double-figure scoring.

The Bulldogs shot 51% from the floor and made 17-of-22 (77.3%) free throws in the victory while knocking down five three's. FSU also totaled 44 points inside the paint and led by as many as 17 points in the fourth quarter.

Ferris State posted a 39-27 rebounding edge and finished with only 12 turnovers while notching five steals in the game.

Cedarville was led by Paige Garr's team-high 20 points. Kat Weakley added 12 points and Taylor Stacy scored 11 points. CU was held to 39% shooting, but went 11-of-32 (34.4%) from long range along with five-of-five (100%) at the free throw stripe.

Ferris State will return home to host Northwood in its home opener on Wednesday, Nov. 16, inside FSU's Jim Wink Arena. Tipoff is set for 5:30 p.m. (ET) for the regional non-league tilt.
