Ferris State Bounces Back For Road Win At Purdue Northwest

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's basketball squad used a key fourth-quarter spurt to take control and come away with a 74-68 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) road win on Saturday (Feb. 4) over Purdue Northwest in Hammond, Ind.

The Bulldogs bounced back to earn the road split as senior forward Chloe Idoni scored the first seven points of the final period as FSU seized control.

Senior guard Mallory McCartney led the Bulldogs with 21 points while Kenzie Bowers added 20 points and Idoni finished with 17 points.

The Bulldogs finished shooting 47.3% from the floor and went nine-of-21 (42.9%) from the three-point line. FSU also made 13-of-21 (61.9%) free throws.

While Purdue Northwest shot 50% overall, the Pride finished only two-of-15 (13.3%) from long range. PNW was 10-of-14 (71.4%) at the line. Dash Shaw paced the Pride with a game-high 28 points while Mercedes Simmons added 12 points.

Ferris State improved to 14-8 overall and 7-6 in the GLIAC with the triumph.

The Bulldogs return home to host Wayne State on Thursday (Feb. 9) at 5:30 p.m. (ET) inside Wink Arena.
