Ferris State Women's Golf Earns Runner-Up Finish At Gilda's Club Laker Invite

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's golf team posted a second-place finish on Saturday (Sept. 23) at the Gilda's Club Laker Invite in Allendale.

The Bulldogs finished the 36-hole event with a +46 total, finishing only seven strokes behind team champion and host Grand Valley State at The Meadows Golf Course.

A total of 11 schools from across the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) and the region took part in the single-day event.

FSU was led by Kamryn Shannon, who finished second individually with a +6 total for the two rounds of competition. She shot a 73 inr round one and a 77 in round two to finish with a 150 total and trailed medalist Olivia Stoll by only a single stroke.

FSU's Dani Staskowski carded a 154 total and placed tied for ninth at +10 for the tourney, shooting a 78 in round one and a 76 over the final 18 holes.

The Bulldogs' Hallie Crozier came in 12th overall with a 156 figure on back-to-back rounds of 78 overall.

Meanwhile, Abby Grevel tied for 20th individually at 162 overall, shooting a 79 in the final round after opening with an 83 in round one.

Finally, Lizzie Anderson finished tied for 38th on the leaderboard, firing a 171 total over the 36 holes of action. She shot a first-round 87 and followed with an 84 in the final round.

The Bulldogs' Taylor Musselman placed tied for 23rd competing as an individual, totaling a 163 score on rounds of 82 and 81 in the first and second, reseptively. Aspen Sugars tied for 35th as an individual with a 170 on rounds of 87 and 83. Hope Thebo also competed as and indivdidual and wound up tied for 50th with a 178 score, finishing with identical rounds of 89 on the day.

The Bulldogs will host their own Lady Bulldog Invitational on Sunday and Monday (Sept. 24-25) at FSU's Katke Golf Course.
