
Bulldog Women's Golf Moves Up To Seventh In Final Round At Beall Fall Classic
Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's golf team moved up a spot on the final day and placed seventh overall at the Beall Fall Classic as play concluded on Tuesday (Oct. 1) at the Findlay Country Club in Ohio.
The Bulldogs shot a 300 team score in the last round and closed the 54-hole event with a 909 figure. Host Findlay won the competition with a 870 followed by runner-up Missouri-St. Louis (882) in the field of 18 schools.
FSU had opened the tournament on Monday with a 309 team score and finished with back-to-back 300 totals in each of the final two rounds.
Individually, Taylor Musselman led the Bulldogs in 13th-place overall with a 222 score. She shot a round of 76 in the opening 18 holes of play before firing a 73 in the second round and a 73 in the last round.
The Bulldogs' Lizzie Anderson finished tied for 19th on the board at 226 for the three rounds, carding a final-round 74 total after posting marks of 77 and 75 in rounds one and two, respectively.
FSU's Kamryn Shannon placed tied for 28th in the event with a 229 team score. She shot a 77 in the first round and then carded a 76 in each of the last two rounds.
Meanwhile, Kylie Walker moved up 11 spots in the final round and placed tied for 50th with a 235 score. She notched a 82 in round one with a 76 in the second round and a 77 over the final round.
Ferris State's Hallie Crozier wound up tied for 67th at the tournament with a 239 stroke total, shooting a first-round 79 followed by a 76 in the second round and an 84 in round three.
Finally, Ashley Thomasma competed as an individual for FSU and placed 61st with a 238 figure. She shot a 75 in round one and a 84 in round two on Monday before notching a 79 in Tuesday's final round.
The Bulldogs will next compete in the Gilda's Club Laker Fall Invite hosted by Grand Valley State on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 5-6, in Allendale. FSU then plays host to the Bulldog Fall Classic on Monday (Oct. 7) at FSU's Katke Golf Course.
