Ferris State Women's Golf Earns Runner-Up Honors At Gilda's Club Laker Fall Invite

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's golf team capped off a weekend of action with a runner-up finish at the 16th annual Gilda's Club Laker Fall Invite on Sunday (Oct. 6) in Allendale.

The annual event was held at The Meadowns Golf Course on the Grand Valley State campus and featured 10 competing teams from across the region. Host GVSU claimed the win at +33 for the tournament with a 6-0 total while FSU took second place overal at 632 for the 36 holes of play.

Individually, Ferris State's Kamryn Shannon claimed all-tournament team honors and was the runner-up with a +9 figure at 153 for the event. She shot a 85 in round one, but came back with an impressive 68 total on Sunday and finished only a single stroke behind champion Charlotte Goersch of Grand Valley State.

FSU's Kylie Walker and Taylor Musselman both tied for 16th place overall with 160 totals for the two days of competition. Walker shot a 77 in round one and a 83 in round two while Musselman carded back-to-back 80 scores for the two rounds.

Ferris State's Hallie Crozier came in tied for 19th with a 161 figure on rounds of 82 on Saturday and 79 on Sunday.

FSU's Lizzie Anderson tied for 34th overall at 169 for the tournament, carding a first-round 83 and a second-round 86 figure.

Additionally, Ferris State's Lauren Kempf placed tied for 21st while competing as an individual, shooting scores of 79 and 83 for a 162 stroke total. Ashley Thomasman also competed as an individual and placed 32nd with a 167 score on rounds of 81 and 86 on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.

The Bulldogs' Katelyn Walker placed tied for 34th as an individual with a 169 score on rounds of 85 in the first round and 84 in round two.

Ferris State will host its own Bulldog Fall Invite on Monday (Oct. 7) with two rounds of competition at Katke Golf Course starting at 9:30 a.m. (ET).
