Big Rapids, Mich. - Two Ferris State University women's soccer players have earned 2011 NCAA Division II All-Midwest Region accolades as announced by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.

Bulldog senior forward Bri Borgman (Holland/West Ottawa) was named to the All-Region Second Team while senior defender Kasey Ruimveld (Vicksburg) attained third team recognition.

A total of 12 players received first team status with 14 earning second team laurels and 14 more tabbed to the third team.

The 5-5 Borgman finished the 2011 campaign with a team-high 10 goals and added two assists for 22 total points.  It marked the third consecutive year in which Borgman has scored 10 goals in a season and the third year in a row she's tallied 22 points or more.  Previously, she also earned Daktronics All-Midwest Region Second Team honors this season.

The four-year letterwinner claimed All-GLIAC First Team honors for the second time this season as she was also a first-team recipient in 2009 when she was also named to the Daktronics All-Midwest Region Second Team.

Borgman wrapped up her Bulldog career with 35 goals, eight assists and 78 total points in 74 career outings.  She concluded her career ranked third in goals, fourth in points and 10th in assists among FSU's all-time leaders.  In addition, her 10 career game-winning goals is currently second on the school chart.

This season, Borgman wrapped up league regular-season play listed third in goals (10) and fourth in points (22) among the GLIAC's seasonal leaders.

Meanwhile, Ruimveld placed fifth among the team's leaders with three points in her junior campaign.  She had both a goal and an assist while starting all 19 contests for the Bulldogs.  Additionally, she was fifth on the team with 15 total shots and added a game-winning goal, which came at Ashland (Sept. 23).

Ruimveld totaled three goals and two assists for the Bulldogs in her four-year career.  She's a three-time GLIAC All-Academic Team honoree and has twice received D2 Athletic Directors Association Achievement Award recognition.

Ferris State finished the 2011 campaign with a 7-9-3 overall record and reached the GLIAC Postseason Tournament for the second-straight year. This year's appearance in the tournament represented the program's fourth ever as the Bulldogs also made the tournament in 2007 and 2008 before the back-to-back trips in 2010 and 2011.
